Terms of Business
Please note that all instructions accepted by or on behalf of Chambers’ Barrister, are accepted on the basis of the Bar Council’s Standard Contractual Terms for the Supply of Legal Services by Barristers to Authorised Persons 2020 (“The Standard Terms”), a copy of which may be obtained via the following link:

All instructions shall be on the Standard Terms, except where:
- Instructions relate to a publicly funded matter, where Chambers’ Barrister is paid directly by the Legal Aid Agency or by the Crown Prosecution Service;
- A conditional fee agreement (“CFA”) applies, unless the CFA specifically provides for the Standard Contractual Terms to apply, or
- A different set of terms and conditions have been expressly agreed between Chambers’ Barrister and the instructing solicitor(s).
Pricing
Eadala Chambers’ Barrister most commonly uses a fixed rate pricing model for advocacy services, ranging from £250 to £1,000 (+ VAT) per hearing for single day hearings. Where a final hearing is listed as a multi-day trial, you will be quoted a price for the brief fee, which includes preparation and advocacy at day 1 of the trial, as well as a price for the refresher fee, for each subsequent day of the trial.
In relation to oral and written advisory services, such as drafting and conferencing services, Counsel most frequently utilises an hourly rate, ranging from £60 to £150 per hour (+ VAT). The factors which influence where the rate falls within this range, include the seniority and experience of Chambers’ Barrister, the complexity and length of the case, the applicable legal area, the volume of papers and materials to review and the time required to complete the work.
